This is not Pripyat… Report from the “dead zone”

The village “Solnechny”(Sunny) was exposed to radioactive contamination as a result of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Multi-apartment buildings, a shopping and entertainment complex, built in a modern format, the school and kindergarten are now completely empty and given away to the destruction of nature.

In the 1970s, in the Braginsky district of the Gomel region in Belarus, decided to build a large livestock complex, and for its employees to build a whole urban village with four-story houses and all the necessary infrastructure.

The newspaper “Sovetskaya Belorussia” in the material of 17-year-old wrote that 26 million Soviet rubles was spent on the construction of the town.

Before the accident in “Solnechny”(Sunny) lived about 1300 people.

– On the night of 4 to 5 May we announced a mass resettlement. It was on the eve of Easter, and people were preparing to celebrate the holiday, but on Sunday morning thousands of buses were already taking them to cleaner territories.

Cultural Center did not have time to finish building.
