Ukrainian soldier gives interview to Italian journalists wearing SS cap

Italian state television channel Rai News 24 interviews a Ukrainian serviceman wearing a cap with the symbols of the SS division “Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler”.

Presumably, the footage was filmed in the Kursk region.

Earlier, the Italian television and radio company RAI, whose journalists made a story from Sudzha in the Kursk region, recalled them from Ukraine.

Correspondent Stefani Battistini and cameraman Simoni Traini were returned to the republic “solely to guarantee their safety and personal protection”, the company said after the FSB opened a criminal case against them for illegally crossing the Russian border.

Ilario Pianerelli, a journalist with the Italian state broadcaster, who last week released a report showing a Ukrainian soldier wearing a cap with the SS division insignia, said that he “deeply regrets” this, but called the uproar on social media a tool of pro-Russian propaganda.
